The world over millions of
Christians attend churches whose evangelistic
efforts have been directly influenced by Charles G. Finney (1792-1875), one
of the most successful of the 19th century evangelists. His ministry efforts

-C. Page I do believe that every
illustration was already in his autobiography. However, it is nice to have
these in one book. The added notes were very helpful. He stated that truth
with zeal will not bring revival unless there is much prayer undergirding it.
I got this book to increase my faith in answered prayer. It did not
disappoint. I found it to be an easy read. Also, any time I can just open it
and begin reading anywhere for a boost. -Firebird Short But Encouraging Read.
Jennings provides selections from Finney's writings illustrating how the
ministry Charles G. Finney was not without God moving in his life and work
through the miraculous. It was more similar to Pentecostal/Charismatic
activity than realized. -Nelson Banuchi First rate biography of such a
gifted evangelist. Any serious Christian will be excited and delighted and
inspired. -Glidagida The author has carefully extracted
a number of events from the ministry of Charles Finney, the great American
evangelist who was such a blessing in the United States and in the UK. The
events that are retold here show quite clearly that the word he preached was
confirmed with signs and wonders following. The author also goes some way to
dealing with a few of the ctiticisms of Finney's
detractors. Finney may be long dead but this book shows just how and why he
was so successful. It gives us a pattern and model to follow. Thoroughly
recommended. -Booksmith |
